What Is Asbestos
Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is composed of soft and flexible fibres, that are resistant to heat and corrosion. These qualities made the mineral very useful however exposure to the asbestos is highly toxic.
There are many uses for Asbestos it can be used in cloth, paper, plastic, cement and with other materials to make it stronger, it was also used as an effective insulator .
When asbestos is disturbed or broken the fibers easily become airborne, when this asbestos dust is inhaled or ingested the mineral fibres become trapped in the body and this is where it become hazardous. This can cause asbestos related diseases such as asbestosis, pleural effusions, pleural plaques, pleuritic, diffuse pleural thickening, COPD and Mesothelioma which is a type of cancer almost exclusively caused by asbestos exposure.
NO amount of asbestos exposure is considered safe, and as the asbestos accumulates within the body with every exposure, there are no known ways to reverse the damage it causes.
At Bio Demolition and asbestos removal, we ensure safety practises and standards are our top priority, for our team, your family, and for the greater community.
